Proven results you can see
With the assistance of Dexcom G7, you can increase the duration of time you spend in the target glucose range, a crucial factor in reducing A1C levels.2-6 As you spend more time in this range, you will experience an improvement in your overall health and well-being.7 Furthermore, we provide the Dexcom Clarity app that monitors your glucose trends and estimates your A1C levels in as little as two weeks.§
Our most comfortable and discreet sensor yet††,7
The latest sensor is remarkably discreet, measuring 60% smaller than its forerunner. Its compact size and its placement on the upper arm allow for a comfortable and unobtrusive wearing experience, making it easy to forget that it's even there.7
Alerts to keep you on track
Dexcom G7 is capable of notifying you when your glucose levels are either too low (via the Urgent Low Soon alert) or too high, which can occur up to 20 minutes in advance. You can tailor the alerts to your individual preferences as well. With Dexcom G7, you can feel more secure in the knowledge that you will be informed when it's necessary to take action.
Lightning fast 30-minute warmup
Compared to all other CGM systems, Dexcom G7 warms up in record time, allowing for an extended period to monitor your glucose levels. Additionally, it offers a new 12-hour grace period, allowing for the sensor to be replaced at a time that is most convenient for you.
Why can’t I press the applicator button when inserting Dexcom G7?
Press the applicator more firmly against your skin before pushing the button. You can’t press the applicator button until you push the applicator so firmly against your skin that the clear safety guard pushes in. Then the button activates, and you can press it to insert the sensor.
If after following these steps, the applicator button still does not activate, please submit a Product Support Request form.
What do I do with the applicator after use?
Dexcom recommends that users dispose of used Dexcom G7 applicators following local guidelines for blood-containing components.
How long can I wear the Dexcom G7 CGM sensor?
The Dexcom G7 sensor is indicated to be worn for up to 10 days, with a 12-hour grace period at the end. The Dexcom G7 sensor should be worn on the back of your upper arm, or upper buttocks for children 2 to 6 years old.
As a reminder, read product instructions before you use your Dexcom G7 CGM System.
• Where to insert — Dexcom G7 sensors may be inserted on the back of the upper arm (indicated for users ages 2 years and older) or the upper buttocks (ages 2-6 years old). Don’t wear your Dexcom G7 sensor on other sites as it may not work as expected. If you wore G6 sensors on your abdomen, wear G7 sensors on the back of your upper arm.
• Follow the insertion instructions carefully. Extra care may help you keep your sensor on for the entire sensor session. The potential magnitude of reduced sensor life throughout the 10 days is provided in the G7 User Guide (refer to Section E, titled Technical Information, Sensor life).
How can I prevent skin irritation from G7 Sensor adhesive?
Some people may be sensitive to the sensor adhesive, so extra care can help. Follow the insertion instructions carefully, review the site preparation tips here, and consider these tips:
- Don’t use the same sensor site twice in a row.
- Keep skin healthy: Consider moisturizing your skin between sensor sessions to avoid dry skin, but don’t use moisturizer on the same sensor site the day you insert the sensor.
If you have significant skin irritation (itching, burning, and/or rashes at the site of the adhesive patch), contact your healthcare provider and report it to Dexcom via the Product Support Request Form.
Can I get Dexcom G7 wet?
The Dexcom G7 sensor is waterproof up to 8 feet (2.4 meters).* You can also get the sensor wet while bathing, showering, or swimming. The Dexcom G7 receiver is not waterproof but is splash resistant.
If you’re in or near water, your compatible display device† may need to be closer than 20 feet (6 meters) to get sensor readings. If you’re in water, you may not get sensor readings until you get out. The patch stays on longer if kept dry.
How can I use events to manage my glucose levels with Dexcom G7 CGM?
Dexcom G7 gives you a graph that shows where your glucose has been. Event logging can help you understand why your glucose changed. For example, what happened to your glucose level when you took a walk after breakfast? Discuss your reflections with your healthcare provider to learn more ways to manage your blood glucose.
How do I log BG meter values or calibrations* in the Dexcom G7 app?
To log a BG meter value or calibrate:
- In the app, tap + in the Glucose or History tabs
- Select Log Blood Glucose, or to use the BG value as a calibration, select Use as Calibration.
- Follow onscreen instructions.
*Please note: Your sensor readings come from different fluids than your BG meter values, so the two usually won’t match. Neither number is as accurate as the lab test your healthcare provider performs. For more information on accuracy and calibrating your Dexcom G7, refer to the Accuracy and Calibration section of the Dexcom G7 User Guide.
†Fingersticks required for diabetes treatment decisions if symptoms or expectations do not match readings.
*The Dexcom G7 sensor is waterproof and may be submerged under eight feet of water for up to 24 hours without failure when properly installed.
